Working with Flights

TGC uses the airlines flight schedules to automate the creation of operating flights in the system. The flight schedules are automatically loaded in TGC, generally created on a bi-annual basis, with routine updates that can be done directly in TGC.

 Creating the flight schedule

 Updating the flight schedule

 Creating operating flights

 Updating the operating flights

1. Creating the Flight Schedule

The Flight Schedule is used by TGC to automate the creation of operating flights.  The schedule departure and arrival times are used to establish the basic filing milestones with customs. You can easily create and update your flight schedule in TGC, click on START to learn more about this process.

Your flight schedule can be uploaded by CHAMP's technical team in TGC via a SSIM file, a GFX schedule transfer or you can enter it manually in TGC.

To create it manually, you just need to select the menu item Schedule Flight > Create Flight. The flight schedule entry screen will then be displayed.

Creating the Flight Schedule

  • Enter the details for the start and end dates for your new period
  • Select the weekdays for when the flights will operate
  • Select type of aircraft and service type
  • Enter the flight number, the points on the routing, and scheduled times
  • Click on Create to save your entries

TGC will activate the operating flights from the schedule automatically overnight for the next two days.  Alternatively, you can follow the next step to activate your operating flights manually.

Activate Operating Flights Manually - Search Scheduled Flight

Select on the menu item Schedule Info > Search Flight. You can use any of the available parameters to shorten the search results. In this example, we will use the flight number we have created in the previous step. Today's date will be loaded by default, you can change it if needed. Click on the Search button so the selected flight will be displayed.

What is TGS? (Traxon Global Security Process)

What is TGS?

TGS is a Pre-Load Advance Cargo Information security service application, PLACI. The Pre-Load security service ensures that the air cargo supply chain is safe and secure. It analyses shipments for potential risks and security threats. This means that all air cargo coming in or going through the country must be filed for security screening prior to loading.

Currently, TGS supports three PLACI services:

·         United States (US) ACAS service

·         United Kingdom (UK) Pre-DICT service

·         Canada (CA) PACT service

·         United Arab Emirates (UAE) NAIC service

Whenever the country's security service identifies a potential threat, TGS issues a hold or referral notice to the carrier. These notices must be resolved before the shipment can be loaded.

Why TGS?

Watch the video to learn more about why TGS is used and what its benefits are.

TGS allows carriers and forwarders to fully comply with ACAS or similar programs like PACT or PRECISE and reduce operational risk.
