Special Cargo & Codes


u  Wet Cargo (WET)

u  What is wet cargo ?

u  Shipment contains liquids or shipments which by their nature may produces liquids.

u  Such as marine and freshwater products which includes salts water, ice and freshwater shellfish & frozen or salted casing/seafood.

u  In case of spill or leak, could lead to corrosion or other damage to the aircraft structure, or damage to other loads.

u  Shipment must be packed in watertight packages have Styrofoam box from inside.

u  Use special handling code (WET).


Special Cargo & Codes


        Heavy / Outsized Cargo (HEA) (BIG)

        Heavy cargo is defined any piece of 150 kg or more.(HEA)

        Outsized cargo is defined as individual cargo items of a size/weight that does not.

Allow it to be loaded regularly in the lower compartments or on one pallet.   (BIG)

u Check the applicable loading charts.

u Consider lashing and tie down for HEA and BIG.


Special Cargo & Codes


u  Pharmaceuticals (ACT) (PIL)

u  There are 2 ways to carry pharmaceuticals:

u  Passive Packing System (PIL)

u  Active Temperature Controlled System (Containers) (ACT)


Dangerous Goods



         Handle with Care 

Place in Dangerous Goods Area

Before storing, check segregation Table for incompatible types. 


Air Waybill (AWB)


Cargo Labels  OR (  Identification Labels)



u  Live Animal Labels


u  Specific Pathogen Free Animal Label

u  Perishable Label
